Behind the lens
From the baseball diamond to the beach, the wedding chapel to the banquet hall, I have spent more than 15 years chasing the moments that matter most.
I’m Matt Eisenberg, an award-winning photographer and multi-platform content creator based in San Diego, California. Throughout my career, I have shot portraits, events, weddings, proposals, sports, concerts and landscapes, taking my storytelling talents from the sidelines to the coastlines every step of the way.
When I’m behind the lens, I reliably capture the fine details before me. I ensure my subjects have ideal composition and lighting when I shoot portraits; I capture the action down to the millisecond when I’m on the sideline at a sporting event; and I thoroughly plan my adventures down to the framing when traveling for landscapes.
My passion for detailed storytelling stretches across all platforms. My photography was featured on CNN’s Top 75 Sports Moments of 2014 and hangs inside the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I have placed in two national competitions and won more than 15 regional awards for my photos, reporting, articles and layout designs.
Previously, I spent eight years as an editor with ESPN, where I led editorial strategy focused on college football recruiting and published nearly 200 bylines, and as a digital content manager at Sharp HealthCare, a non-profit hospital group in San Diego County. I have also been published by Bleacher Report, the New York Daily News, Business Insider and Deadspin.
True stories are about people, and that principle has driven everything I’ve done behind a lens and in front of a keyboard for the past 15 years.
A good story stays with you. It makes you think, laugh, cry, feel. Storytelling is what transforms a photograph into a memory that you carry with you for the rest of your life. That is what I’m after each time I pick up a camera.
